Antes Del Casa

The origin of this breed is thought to be from Andalucia. This is not a rare breed as there are probably thousands in Spain and it has lived in anonymity in the country for a very long time giving its services to the herdsman and fisherman who kept the breed alive and true. As you might expect from the name this breed excels in the water, it can even dive to retrieve. Their webbed feet and muscular body make them extremely powerful swimmers. This dog has a woolly coat and when allowed to grow long the curly wool forms cords similar to that of the Puli, and this requires a lot of maintenance. If the cords are not correctly cared for they can form huge mats. For pet dogs it is advisable to clip the coat twice a year in April and September, these dogs do however, require regular bathing.
