As the name suggests the Kerry Blue originates from Ireland and it is thought that the Bedlington and Bull Terrier were used in its development, which explains the coat and its spirited and determined nature. It has a non shedding silky soft dense curly coat which requires a lot of maintenance and regular grooming every 4 to 6 weeks is recommended. The correctly groomed technique is hand scissoring with sections of closely clipped work around the throat, top of head and ears.
