Originating from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, possibly the Isle of Skye. A fearless tough little dog with a very weather resistant double coat consisting of a very harsh outercoat and short soft undercoat. Their coats are generally easy to look after a good combing twice a week will prevent the coat from getting tangled and they should be professionally hand stripped a couple of times a year. Hand stripping out the old and dead hair takes time to do properly.
